Hi,

I just purchased exbal version 6.0 build 2527 on SD card for my hp ipaq pda rx1950 and NF ballistic Program version 10.0 for desktop pc and run the same drop tables with apparently all the same data but get different drop tables.

Anyone offer an explanation please?

I have emailed <[email protected]>: however it bounces back. I am aware of Gerry's passing RIP and am not sure if anyone is continuing his work.
Thanks in advance,
Greg

Re: Exbal PC and PDA drop table differences.

PDA - HP iPAQ rx1950 with Nightforce / Exbal Version 6 Build 2527
PC - NF Ballistic Program - Version 10.0

Sierra MatchKing 0.308" 155gr HPBT Palma . (G1)

Bullet weight 155gr Muzzle velocity 2800fps
BC g1 0.504 Sight in 100yards
Sight Height 1.457 incline 0
Wind Speed 0 Target Speed 0
Wind from 12o'clock Wind Angle 360

The multiple BC's are the same for both platforms: Drag G1
0 0
0.504 2700
0.47 1800
0.43 1500
0.38 0
0 0

Report interval 25

Field Conditions
NOT Use Density Altitude
Altitude 88ft
Temperature 79deg F
Relative Humidity 47%

NOT Std Atmospheric Conditions
Pressure @ Sea Level 29.44inHg
Pressure @ Altitude 29.35inHg

On the PDA I don't have the option of Density Altitude
and the Calculate standard Pressure is 29.44 inHg IF I check the box which I don't.

PC Drop table
Range ELEV MOA TRAJ ELEV VELFPS NRG Drop Flight
1000 33.13 -346.5 1257 544 -382.5 1.5956

PDA
1000 33.63 -352.6 1234 524 1.6132

I'm guessing the difference of 0.5 MOA could be the pressure standard difference. I've heard there's a bit of difference in this between versions and usse of different or 'Hybrid' standards. I got it to within 1/8 MOA @ 1000 once, which is fine.

I've been reading:

I want to use the PDA at the range and the PC to print drop tables.
I want the two programs to output the same!
Thanks for any help

Re: Exbal PC and PDA drop table differences.

Well i plugged in the same settings in my palm pilot (5.5 version) and in version 10 of Exbal pc version at at 1k it was 1.5 moa different...

So really i don't think you are going to get them exact.

Re: Exbal PC and PDA drop table differences.

It (the PDA vers) only has the 0.264" 155gr Hollow Point Boat Tail

I'd need the 0.308" 155gr Hollow Point Boat Tail right?
The PC vers looks that up fine.

The multiple BC's come from:
http://www.sierrabullets.com/index.cfm?section=reloading&page=coefficients

I read a quote somewhere saying - Give a man a watch and he knows the time but give him two and he's never quite sure - or something like that!

The PDA will have to take precedence as it will be in my hand. I think I'll just have to manually hand write my drop cards.

Re: Exbal PC and PDA drop table differences.

I'm getting it to within 1/8 moa at 1000, so content enough. Thanks for your help
