Hi guys. I've found that the PMC Target (standard velocity, yellow box) is sub-sonic. I've experience no sonic crack in 300 rounds and wonder if there is a reason to use the more expensive ammo marketed as subsonic?

I've been firing at an elevation of around 3800ft. Does the speed of sound go up or down w/ elevation? And while we're on that subject, does the speed of sound go up or down w/ temperature increase?

Thanks,
Nate

It goes up as temp goes down. SoS is a function of density, so as the density goes up, so does the speed of sound. High altitude at higher temp is a double dose of reduction in SoS.
