Im going to be shooting my first F class open match on the 24th, Im deciding which rifle to bring.. targets at 300,600 and 800, 20 shots each

300 WM
27" RV contour
NF 5.5-22x50
Completely set up on Load dev., 2X brass and deadly accurate, most comfortable with the shooting of this rifle

6.5X47 L
21" rv contour
NF 2.5X10X42
new brass, shots great, still have some kinks to work out with only 80 rds down the tube, but know its solid at 600.

MY WORRIES
with the 300 win mag, will the barrel get way to hot? I get 30 min at the 300, and 22 and 600 and 800, is it "bad" to take up all that time.

with the 6.5X47, ill be able to shot it all day long, but the 10X scope REALLY has me worried on being able to see those white lines in the massive black target at 600 and 800 yards.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I would put the 22x scope on the 6.5x47 and enjoy the match.

Your 300WM is too short, and probably too light (barrel profile) for F-Class environment with a magnum.

Nobody should be rushing you either - take your time.

Okay I thought of that too, I'll just buy a stiller base and throw the 22X on the 6.5. The lapua barrel is only 21", I know it's short but I think it should have steam at 800, runing the 130 berger at 2770, 1650 FPS at 800 yards, it shouldn't be to windy either. I more worried about mirage it's going to be 92 that day

It's loaded to 37.5 gr of varget and 450 primers. I'll probably just stick to where it's at it seems to really like that load, I think I'm just suffering from the short barrel.
