I am looking for under $30 a box 300 blackout factory ammo with good consistency in velocity. My Ruger Ranch is achieving 2" groups at 300 yards using the Sig Sauer BDX 4.5-14x44 siera3 scope and Kilo1000 rangefinder with ammo that has good consistency in velocity. I am using the TSC Hunter suppressor as well. I am interested in the 110 grn v-max and 125 grn OT 300 blackout ammo. Has anyone had any luck with the following factory ammo: 1) AAC Signature 110 grn, 2) Hornady Black 110 v-max, 3) AAC Sabre Blacktip, 4) Winchester 125 OT Range? I now have a Caldwell Chrono to shoot through to find the actual velocity and generate an average for each box of 20 rounds. The Sig Sauer BDX system is awsome providing the velocity is relatively consistent along with the rest of the "dope" being accurate. What factory ammo do you recommend that I can buy in bulk for under $20-$30 a box???

Sorry, it is Ammo INC 110 grn signature ammo that I am considering for my 300 blackout bolt action rifle. The BDX system from Sig Sauer is very good for setting distance and hitting center at various distances out to 300+ yards. However, this does require consistency in velocity to work shot after shot.
I am seeking the least expensive factory ammo due to not being a reloader. Any experiences are helpful at this time. THANkS

Here is the skinny on my shooting the Ruger Ranch 16" 300 Blackout bolt action rifle for velocity consistency. I bought boxes of each of these following rounds. I shot each type from a random selection of rounds from each box (to imitate a typical shooting session whether hunting or target shooting), recorded the velocity of each round fired and came up with a range of velocity for each manufacturer. This was done using the TSC Hunter suppressor and using the Caldwell Precision Chrono. I weant to find a manufacturer with as consistent velocity per round as possible for less than $30.00 a box. All of the choices would be good for under 150 yard shooting on large targets but only was good enough for near precision shooting out to 300+ yards. My Ruger is capable of 2" groups at 300 yards measured with the Kilo1000 rangefinder and using the bdx system 4.5-14x44 Siera3 scope. The BDX system requires consistent velocities among other accurate "dope" in order to achieve the 1 moa guarantee. However, this shooting trip was to establish the consistency in velocity not group size with the target at 100 yards. I wanted to hit a 3" diameter shoot N see target. Here are the results.

1) AAC 110 grn v-max velocity range was 2979 fps - 2108 fps or 871 fps spread. 50% of the rounds fired were in the 2100's, 30% were in the 2900's, 19% were in the ranges of 2200 - 2400's and 1% was in the 2600's. I considered this self defense ammo within 150 yards.
2) AAC Sabre Blade 110 grn black tip velocity range 2605 - 2233 or 372 fps spread. 35% in the 2200's, 35% in the 2300's, 20% in the 2400's and 10% in the 2600's. Again, this is what I consider self defense out to 150 yards.
3) Ammo Inc 110 grn v-max velocity range 2440 - 2099 or 341 fps spread. 10% 2000's, 45% 2200's, 45% 2400's. Again, self defense out to 150 yards.
4) Hornady Black 110 v-max velocity range 2455 - 2318 or 137 fps spread. 30% in the 2300's and 70% in the 2400's. I believe it would be adequate for most needs out to 200 yards yards.
5) Winchester USA 125 grn OT Range/Target velocity range 2252 - 2178 or 74 fps spread. 40% in the 2100's and 60% in thec 2200's. This is my choice from the stated manufacturers for an attempt at precision shots out to my limit of 300 - 350 yards with the 300 blackout. I can't wait for the Winchester USA READY 125 grn OT ammo to arrive. I'll let you know my results. This was hardly a professional study but good enough for personal use.

I have not used the WB but of all the 300blk ammo I have used iver the last 10 years the Ready is easily in the top 5 for accuracy. The Barnes 110s were the most accurate followed by the 125 grain ssts.
