I have been asked to examine a possible faulty ammo issue that caused injury to the shooter when the pistol barrel exploded across the chamber. The ammo is from a major manufacturer, however, the box indicates a date/batch code 8+ months after the incident acutually happened. Allegedly, the injured shooter purchased the box of ammo directly from a retail chain. Has anyone ever encountered erronious date/batch codes on factory ammo boxes or should I be looking elsewhere? Any information helpful.
