Anybody used any of the reduced recoil Factory hunting ammunition? I am not set up to reload yet and may want to take my little one deer hunting soon.

Other option is an AR with Gold Dots in it.

A friend of mine has used the Remington reduced load 308 with success on blacktail. It's been mostly heavy brush areas so most shots are under 150yds. I can't speak to the difference in recoil because I haven't shot it.

I would think for a young hunter those would be fine, or a limb saver pad if the LOP doesn't get out of hand.

My dad tried this out in his 308 last year. He had to drop the recoil since he had shoulder surgery.

150 lb Boar and nice 8-point would both tell you that it works. Granted, as everything else...shot placement is key. If you hit the vitals, you won't have any problem with this ammunition. Check out the boxes...I think they just load a very light bullet, it still flies decently quick.

For reference, Boar was 125yds and Buck was about 80yds.

Good luck to you and good on you for getting the kid out in the woods.

Best,
Max
