A few years ago these were all the rave. I picked one up for $385 and I have been extremely satisfied, especially for the price. However, lately I have heard nothing but poop about them. Is there something I should know? Has the falcon stopped being a good optic?

The quality control has gone down. Mel at snipercentral.com has stopped selling them and even removed the reviews from his website.

I bought one a year ago and have been nothing but pleased.
Still, I am not crazy about the warranty policy, though it is understandable.
The website is up and running now. I used the contact link to send a question to them and Nick Watts responded very quickly.
I suppose one could ask SWFA if they have been getting a lot of returns for warranty on the Falcon's, that would probably be your best indicator.
I love the features of the scope and as stated have been very pleased with mine.

i have 3 on my rimfires and they have all ran without issues, although i use holdovers more than actually dialing.
Hopefully mine will hold up, it would be alot of $$$ to replace them with something comparable.

I've heard that they have been failing but I have not been able to find any real failures posted. I have seen an old one brought up as if it were new again, but it was the same old one from the year before which was from a prototype and the failure had nothing to do with the production model.
I'm not sure if it is just a SH urban legend or if they are actually failing?
SH opinions/trends can seem to supersede facts at times. I don't know if that is the case here or not.
