I recently got a 4-14x44 ffp menace to go on my 700 5R... after reading some threads here, i realized a few guys said that the knobs on their falcons had splines that the knobs seat on, but I remember when zeroed mine, they were just snug on a smooth cylinder with 3 set screws holding them tight. Did I get a knock-off, or whats the deal???

no your fine thats the new knobs. the old knobs had the splines and only one set screw you have the new one w/ the new knobs. your good to go

Oh yea, thank guys... now I wish I waited to buy my Falcon.
I've been waiting for it to arrive for 3 weeks from a group buy and now I have to anticipate if I got the old knobs or new knobs.

Did you get the 4-14 or 5-25? I think all the 5-25s come with the new turrets.

He was selling the 5-25s along with the 4-14s... I opted for the 4-14 w/ Mil turrets and EMD reticle, partly due to cost savings, some due to weight savings, and some due to increase in adjustment range.

I got a 5.5-25x from RW Snyder about 5 weeks or so ago and it has the knobs with the 3 screws if that helps.

I'm fairly sure the 5-25's all have the 3 screw knobs. Now there are some of the older style knobs mixed in with the new knobs on the 4-14 scopes.
