Rifle Scopes Falcon Menace 5.5-25x50 FFP on an AR?

I realize the optic is way overkill for an AR, but I was wondering if this optic would mount on an AR? After looking at some pics of this optic mounted on some rifles it seems like it might sit way too far back.

Has anyone tried it, and/or have pictures of it mounted?

I do not understand the much said "overkill" on scopes. If the optic fulfill's the desired use of the owner there's no such thing.
