Been staying away from the range to fish the Coeur dalene and St.Joe river... Anyone else hit up the September dry fly fishing?

I have had success with sculpin streamers... Mahogany duns and just about any type of Caddis!
Here are a few from the last couple weeks..

I belive it is in utah as well this was in colorado below stagecoach res. We are planning a trip to fish the arkansas river again in colorado.

Nice pics!
I'm trying to plan a ten day trip in western Wyoming and attempt the Cutt Slam challenge, Sept 2019, catch and document all five sub species in their native habitat in a single season.

Badass! Are you floating or wading?

Since it's on the other side of the state, I think we'll drive first then float, wade and shore fish. We may have as many as four on the trip. Initial planning, I'm thinking we'll fish evenings and following mornings then pack-up camp and change locations mid-day. This so we can cover all the required habitat areas for each of the sub species. Depending on long term weather forecasts, we can choose to start from the north or south. I've only tried dry flies up to this point but I will practice with streamers before we go. These Wyoming stream trout have a voracious appetite for leaches and crayfish. With my spinning rod, I've always been able to pull out fish on lures that resembled these.

I have been destroying the Cutty's on a pattern called a Mr. Creepo... It has the best action out of any sculpin pattern I have ever used... Used that with an intermediate sink line from rio on the swing has been crushing them

I am headed to the RMNP area the middle of October. I am not a fly fisherman, but I have had good luck with ultralight spinning tackle and a casting bubble. These pictures have me fired up about this trip.

Thats actually my little brother he is amazing fly fisher as well as a shooter he regularly out fishes me and after 1 hour of explaining the kestrel he ranged and made wind call to ring his first plate at 1000

Anyone get out on the river lately?

I'm thinking about heading to the Clearwater to give steelhead fishing a shot.

I have a 8 wt. Loop that I'm going to outfit with a OPST short head, I have a switch rod, but it's only a 6wt so not sure it will cut it on the Clearwater
