Federal 175gr Gold Medal Match in 7.62x51mm
This should be the same thing as .308, right? I have never seen it before.

basically yes. ive only had one gun in 308 i couldnt shoot it in. a h&r handi rifle the fired case would stick in the chamber. both my remingtons and m1a shoot just fine with it.

Re: Federal 175gr Gold Medal Match in 7.62x51mm

Does the NATO case create more pressure in the 7.62x51 case than the standard .308.

Re: Federal 175gr Gold Medal Match in 7.62x51mm

I am assuming that there should be no accuracy difference either.

Re: Federal 175gr Gold Medal Match in 7.62x51mm

Bumping this back up, I would like to ask- for anyone who has used it, how is the accuracy? As good as Gold Medal Match 168 grain? (.308)

I'm thinking about buying a case, hadn't really seen a review so I was curious.

All depends on the rifle but.... I've had good luck with certain lots of lake city 118LR..... I can shoot 5 GM and 5 LR and still be about half minute (roughly) at 300m for those 10 shots. Not bad, not the best. I havent taken GM past 500 but Im sure it will be about the same if I do my part. Id see how both shoot if I were you.... never know.

I don't have experience with FGMM 7.62x51, but every type of FGMM I've used (168 gr. and 175 gr.) have always been consistently great performers. I doubt these will be any different.

I've been shooting a lot of it because of the price, but interested in trying something else as my "go-to" load, now that the 7.62x51 can be had for a reasonable price. The 175 grain .308 is not a good price.
