My brother had some of this lying around from some factory Fed hunting rounds. Just wondering if they actually made it, or did they get from Rem and headstamp it?

I dont think its remington. The federal I have reloaded has less case capacity than the remington.

Is it worth a flip?
Why isnt fc selling it? I wish lapua would come off the high horse and start making it, or even Winchester. Oh well there's always 7-08mm.

The name of the cartridge is "260 Remington", as they registered the name, chamber and cartridges drawings, and pressure, with SAAMI.
Federal is just marking it "260 Rem" to identify the cartridge.
