Gunsmithing Feeding problem with AICS mags

I'm trying to get a couple AICS mags feeding right for a friend in a .308 I built him, and they're being uncooperative. For reference, my unmodified mags feed flawlessly in this rifle.

The feed lips had been tweaked already, so I brought them back into spec. I've played with different adjustments, but currently the rear is about .405, about the same as a factory mag, and the front is a few thousandths wider.

The springs on both of his mags are longer than mine, but he says he hasn't stretched them. I did try adjusting one of them to put more pressure on the front of the round; it may have helped, but it didn't fix the problem.

The mags feed like butter for 6-7 rounds, and then a round nose dives. Even when loading the mag, it doesn't appear to be pressing the round against the feed lips at the front very solidly.

Anybody else run run into a problem with AICS mags nose diving? I don't think it's a feed lip issue, the round isn't even hitting the feed lips when it jams. Are replacement springs even available for these mags?

My AICS mags do this randomly and often, they are bone stock an not modified in any way, I usually do a quick push on the bullet with the bolt open and they seem to reset in correct position. Bought a couple of the Magpul AX mags haven't had any problems whatsoever and they feel like they feed easier. Just my personal experience with them.
