Okay. I'm a nube. I admit it. Picked up a DPMS and a 700 7mm . . . both of which are project guns. Suffice to say, the best scope I've worked with thus far is a Millet.

So, onto the stupid question. Does the focal plane affect eye relief at all? Specifically, the Millet I had would change in eye relief drastically when the magnification was changed. Is the same true for a FFP scope?

I apologize in advance if I'm offending anyone with such a silly nube question. I do appreciate any advice though, as I like to over research every purchase.

Re: FFP vs SFP --> Eye Relief

I don't think it does. Leupold lists their min/max eye relief specs in their catalog and there is no difference between the SFP and FFP versions of the same scope.

I would expect most FFP scopes to have less change in eye relief because they are usually higher quality with better optical design, but not because they are FFP.
