Gunsmithing Fiberglass stock, pillars and bottom metal

I purchased a McMillan built KMW stock in advance of receiving my preorder action. First fiberglass stock, everything else has been chassis'.

How does a gunsmith unitize or lock all these parts together?
Is it the devcon, or whatever bedding material or is it just the action screws.

Interested to understand.

generally the bottom metal is not "locked in".....its free to be removed and held in place with the action screws.

the pillars are usually bedded in with epoxy.....devcon, acraglass, jb weld....all going to work the same.

Thank you for the response. Interesting. I would have thought that the bottom metal would have been bonded someway to the stock.

We certainly could make your floorplate a permanent fixture, but that's a pretty "boogery" way of doing it.

There is a process for fitting stocks to barreled actions and accessory pieces. Mine is a little different, but the end game result is the same.

If you want a quick turnaround and great work, let Chad do the job for you.
Your rifle will probably spend more time in transit than the time it takes Chad to complete it.
