So as a nation we are willing to kill over chinese junk?

“High dollar items” it’s fucking Walmart, ain’t no such animal 😂

Yeah, don’t steal, yes don’t draw unless you want to get into a shootout and maybe not come out on top, especially when it’s 3/1. Not questioning that.

But legit, we have 4 Americans fighting to the fucking death over chinese trinkets :(

That guy needed shot in the head and deserved it, to bad he lived.

If cops could shoot worth a shit, tens of millions of dollars in property damage, court costs, prison occupancy and human suffering this parasite causes and will cause over his worthless lifetime would have been saved.

Trash is gonna trash. They gave him the option to just walk out the store and leave. He chose poorly. That being said there were 3 cops and 1
"civilian" on the guy, he was on his stomach with these 4 guys on top so was fatty really a threat at that point? Interesting that the second the one cop saw the gun he started screaming shoot him shoot him. So one cop puts the muzzle to this guys head and tries to execute him? Fails all around.

3 dudes can't control one guy whose already on the ground? Their only option is to shoot him in the head, execution style? And then gloating over it after shooting the guy, "nice, nice, nice"? Doesn't seem at all justified to me. Seems more like three hotheads that don't need to be wearing a badge.

Pretty sure the "nice, nice, nice" was coming from the civilian who tried to give the officers a hand - not from one of the officers. Ballsy on his part to step in - with the perp calling for help the civilian's efforts might have been misconstrued by the officers and he might have been injured/arrested. Tough call - I'd like to think I'd step in to assist the officers but upon reflection it was a big risk.

Based on the still pics, the guy had the gun halfway out of his pocket/holster at one point - not sure I'd hesitate to shoot him myself under those circumstances. Can't wait until he's got it all the way out and starts shooting . . . though with all the wrangling around on the floor he might just as well have shot himself in the leg.

Hope to never find my self in that situation - either as a perp or as an officer!

The random dude getting involved was an idiot. Fuck the thief. Those deputies look like they were maybe new on the job? They sure seemed to struggle with that guy unnecessarily.

Point is we had 4 Americans willing to kill over chinese made junk from Walmart

That’s a low for EVERYONE (minus china)

Hope it’s not a sign of things to come
No we had one moron willing to die over nothing we had 4 Americans trying to stop a crime in progress. The cops told the guy to leave several times he was the one that escalated. Also this was California so the odds of that guy carrying legally are pretty much zero as you have to be the Sheriffs cousin to get a ccw.

That's not a pretty sight. Incompetence all around.

Correct me if I am wrong (I haven't been in the US for a while), aren't one of the cop's opening lines "do you have any weapons or objects that may be used as weapons on you."

I recall them asking everytime I had any interaction with the police outside. Even that one time I was giving a statement as a witness.

Americans fighting to the death over Chinese crap ?
Have you ever been on a plane when they start handing out peanuts . People turn into fuckin animals .
My wife and I went to the VIP reception for the opening of the Smithsonian Native American Museum . Senators , high profile DC Attorneys and a few Holly Weirds . You should have seen the high fallooties attacking the effin waiters over hor devours . They literally almost knocked one down .
Nine meals my ass . Take out cable and Burger King and society will come unfargin glued . Fight me .🥔

The guy had outstanding warrants and kept trying to make excuses to keep his hands uncuffed. "I'm freaking out", "I'm trying to call my wife", and so on. Gives me the idea he was considering shooting his way out of the situation rather than be detained or arrested, since he probably didn't want to go to jail. Of course, if he'd not made the decision to blatantly try stealing whatever it was he was stealing, he wouldn't have found himself in that situation to begin with.

That said, the deputies involved really didn't seem to take control of things. I didn't get any sense of authority from them at all, and neither did the thief.

So fucking sick of hearing about this stupid trivial shit that people get involved in and it always has to end with someone getting shot or killed. Doesn't anyone just get into a simple fist fight anymore and call it a day afterwards?

When I called the cops over cut and dry felony larceny, and much more $$ than any crap you could carry out of a Wally World, all I got was “that’s a civil matter”.

Seems the big stuff is smile and wave, the pointless crap everyone just has to get it on and pay, or take, the ultimate price.

Seems human life is dropping in value in America, third world shit abound

Ah come on man (in my best Biden voice), you know where I'm going with this. The trial of FL v Curtis Reeves recently ended with a not guilty verdict and it was yet another example of a shooting death that never should've happened in the first place. Other examples are road rage incidents that lead to gunfire and what about that incident awhile back were a couple was shot to death by their neighbor over snow on their lawn? And another case that I will be following once it finally goes to trial is a story out of TX where 2 neighbors were fighting over a child's bed that was put in the dumpster they shared and one neighbor gets shot and killed.

No, I'm not becoming some bitch made anti-gun soyboy. I'm just tired of hearing about people getting killed over stupid trivial shit that's all. About 3 or 4 years ago I was at my neighbor's house across the street when a fight broke out and normally I'm not a busy body and don't get involved, but this was different because I didn't choose to get involved in this. Anyways, while breaking up the fight and got hit in the arm by a baseball bat. The entire time I was there I had my CCW on me and through that whole ordeal I never once thought about drawing it. I may have left the house with a bruise on my arm, but guess what? I also left without any legal issues or attorney fees and never had to stare down the barrel of a state prosecutor trying to lock me up for life for murder.

The kicker here is due to prop 47 stealing less than 950 bucks is now a misdemeanor. Of course as Son of Dorn pointed out this guy knew he was in for it as a felon carrying a firearm. He knew when they got outside they were going to search his ass and find the gun.

If he weren’t white you know they (all 3 +1) would have walked right up to him and executed him. Then stolen some doughnuts and left. Clean up on isle 11. Clean up on isle 11.

I’m kinda disappointed, the title lead me to think it was about fighting over beads at Mardi Gras!
It was beads and boobs Tuesday this week! 😁

What is the trespassing law in California?
They can't trespass you here unless you refuse to leave.
They were banning him from the store. The idea was to write it up then if he showed up there again he would be arrested.

Fucker should have shoplifted a bro-zier. Those giant saggy moobs and whiny voice gives off the creepy, pre-op tranny vibe.

It was the civvy that spotted the gun and yelled that as well as the "nice, nice, nice" and "I'm out". Tough call as to whether his actions made things worse or better. He placed himself at risk and was an added distraction, but he also saw what they didn't first.

The reality is the shoplifter set the entire chain of events in motion and proceeded to escalate things at every opportunity.

Exactly, he was “asking for it”

Follow that shit through history and ask “but if for me”

Cops working for a private company?
The cops work for the county/city and if the store wants their info to ban them. That's on them. But using police authority to get that info is wrong.
They hadn't committed any crimes. The store was using the police to do their job. If the store wanted them to leave they should have told them to leave. If at that time they refuse to leave. Call the police and have them trespassed. That's the way it works here and probably most of the country. That's why I asked what the law in California is.

A lot of big box stores will call the police preemptively rather than deal with the media fallout of security guards fighting it out with customers.

I wonder how much merchandise got shoplifted while security and loss prevention were distracted and tied up with that guy?

Well seeing how they are open for years as the police shut down private shops, I’d call it a wash

When did they take away the nightsticks?

Seems like when I was a kid, resisting arrest like that would have resulted in a huge knot on their head long before the head shot.

1. Guy tries to steal and is asked to leave.

2. He grabs a knife while being escorted out of the building.

3. Officers detain him and he resists arrest.

4. While being cuffed, he grabs a concealed handgun and gets shot by the police.

What the fuck is going on right now? An execution? The guy literally had a gun in his hand. The fact that he couldn't dislodge it from under his fat flap is his own problem. Are you guys for real? Or is this just trolling and I'm dense.

I don't have a dog in this fight and I'm as neutral as it comes in regards to my stance on law enforcement. I'm genuinely confused.

Officers Reed and Malloy were not on this caper. :). Then again, those two routinely had finger on "go switch."
