Hello all. Well muzzle loading season is winding down with one match left to shoot in October, so I'm now back to the .22 fun and I'll be picking up where I left off (for good or bad lol), and I'll be getting back into the swing of things.

I've noticed some new short range SH matches and I must say they look pretty darn interesting, challenging, & fun to shoot as well! I just need to get a new printer hooked up to run some targets.

I kind of missed this ol' house and you folks, as well as shooting the monthly .22 matches.

Re: Finally I'm Back To The .22 Fun!

Welcome Back Joe.

I myself have been away from shooting completely, and just got to go out this morning for some .22 fun. I did better than expected, but not as well as I wanted to. The new short range 50Y tactical match target is lots of fun, and I would have shot it for the comp, but I didn't record what #'s we were shooting at so I just picked some random numbers to shoot at. I cant wait to go out and try doing it for the match very soon.

Re: Finally I'm Back To The .22 Fun!

Thanks JR_V, it's good to be back. I missed the July & August competitions, but hopefully I'll get out yet this morning or this afternoon and at least get my 4 Position short range target shot for September. If not, I still have tomorrow.

I believe I'll run off some of those tactical match targets at work this coming Monday or Tuesday for the weekend of September 25/26. It does look to be a very competitive target with some very good shooting challenges on it. Good luck and good shooting my friend.

Re: Finally I'm Back To The .22 Fun!

Nice to see you again Joe! Yeah we set up that tactical target and put it up for it's first time in August. There have been a few tweeks, but so far it has been a big success.

Re: Finally I'm Back To The .22 Fun!

good to see that your back, something has been missing the last month or so.

that new "tactical" target is pretty damn fun to shoot and with the 4 position target, really seems to roound out the whole rimfire trainer shooting experience. alot of new shooters doing it too, which is cool. i still want to enlarge it and shoot it at 200 with the .308, just to see. perhaps next month.

other than that, much remains the same, carter mayfield putting a whooping on us still. i'm calling tomorrow my match day, with some luck i'll shoot straight & true.

it's good to have you back!

Hello SBS & TP,

Good to get back to the .22 fun. I'm looking forward to shooting that tactical target once I get some targets ran.

Even though I've only missed two months - it sure seems longer.

I think a 200 yard tactical target would be pretty darn interesting to shoot to say the least. You guys came up with a winning idea for sure!

that's with the .308, i'm thinking Mr. mayfield is the only one able to pull it off at 200.

yes, he's my idol

again it's great to have you back, with all the blackpowder shooting, do you werea respirator as much as hearing protection?

No respirator - but I do pick up my spent patches and stuff them in my ears...

TP, I picked up a couple Mosin Nagant rifles over the Summer. I've only ran 5 shots through each one (surplus ammo) and I like 'em.

I see the Alliance Gun Club (57 miles south of me) has a military competition that these rifles are allowed in. The wheels are turning in my head...
