Finally, PBS Frontline Doing Something Besides Attacking Trump -- Pegasus

Used to be that PBS Frontline did some amazing journalism. Lately, like all other so-called journalists, they are just pushing socialism and vilifying anyone who is a Constitution-loving American.

However... this latest two part show they are doing as part of a cooperative investigation undertaken across the world... is not only well-done but downright scary.

It's about the misuse of Pegasus spyware. And how governments are using it... and for some nasty stuff. Part 1:

What is Pegasus you may ask? It is a highly-effective spyware/malware/virus that will infect phones and give users utter access to the lives of the owners of infected devices. And the latest iterations don't even require you to 'click' on a spearfishing attack or similar. Details...

If you think this is not being used against Amercians... by Five Eyes or similar entities? Or by private companies? I'd bet against you.

Now off trying to find out how to 'check' devices...

Pretty fascinating stuff. Makes me yearn for the days of the wall phone and no PC's...

I used to love pbs as a kid and tvo the leaf equivalent. Gets old having climate and other nonsensical narratives inserted into otherwise interesting shows/documentaries.

Hopefully this is the start of the swing back to normalcy.

Doubt it... they all have their panties in a twist because Pegasus is being used against Human Rights Activists and Journalists... I think they would be drooling with glee if they found out it was used for, say, Jan. 6. Would you bet against that? Not me!

Anyway, they are all a bunch of socialist, greenie fruits. But apparently they don't like being targets... they only like being the ones targeting others.

And, yes, I loved PBS and NPR until about 20 years ago they totally off the rails with faggotry and communism. Our tax dollars at work.

The proliferation and use of these kinds of tools is an open secret in the cybersecurity community. But lest I miss a chance to use the meme:

Interesting, something worth listening to on PBS. I only listen when finacial/Dave Ramsey stuff is on my goto conservative station....and then only to listen for laughs at the utter stupidity of the far left funded by our tax dollars.

As a young man I worked for a semi-secret squirrel part of the military studying "weather phenomena" and providing secure C3CM.

Even then, we knew that if you emanated anything other than pure brain waves we could capture it. The difference was that Windows based computers were just becoming a thing and computer programs that sorted and collated words, sentences, addresses and phone numbers were still a few years in the future. It was very apparent that within a year or three we would get everything from everyone and be able to store it forever. I bet my first cell phone call log is out there somewhere and that was nearly 30 years ago.

They knew 20 years ago that the NSA had mirror servers copying all overseas email traffic. The hard part of sorting and sifting has now been removed from human hands and you can sift through everything and find what you want easily. Why would you think shit has changed? Socialism and hate go hand in hand. In order for the evil people in government to control people they need your secrets, your credit information and your private family information to exploit. Democrats require the means to control your life. I promise you, they dream of a day where a mouse click by a leftist loser will ruin your life, end your retirement or marriage for the crime of questioning evil.

There is absolutely no point in complaining, Google and literally every search engine, email program, and web site steal your information and sell it to the highest bidder, any place that says they do not do it is a fucking liar. When you are done reading this thread, go search for private jets, 30 year old single malts and diamonds over 3 carats. Then go look at the popup ads on Foxnews or what pops up on Google.

Something about William Lyman's voice that it was the truth about the story .

I read one main reason they are so pissed off a Snowden is because he made so many people aware the everybody started moving to end-to-end encryption that really put a hamper on those spyware activities across the channels.

And here's the brain in Utah. I wonder if the Chinese are buying land next door?

Well, we have manged to get all the bad shit that comes with a living in a cyberpunk dystopia (corrupt government, megacorps, social and cultural dysfunction, etc.). I just hope to live long enough to experience some of the really cool shit (cybernetics, flying cars, virtual worlds, etc.).

So you remember Tempest!

The difference is that today, everyone just emminates everything with poor security and takes the providers word for it when it comes to privacy.

If anything they report from Ukraine is true, people better start learning about Tempest. Cellphones and TikTok clips have killed thousands of Russians.

Ahhh I remember a former instructor at university went to work for E-systems. He told me back in 1998-1999 that his "desktop" was a "Silly-G" Onxy 2 with something like 16 or 64-cores. All that was to do was build code or something for the huge farm of CRAY because the CRAY had almost no memory limitations on the throughput...it could suck up as much data as it could be fed whereas the Silly-G could not (despite faster processor) which was the reason they didn't do whatever it was they did with the Silly-G. All this was unclassified...I promptly told him "I know what you're doing, and I don't want to know another fucking thing you do...EVER."

Now, fast forward and thing of these super-whoppers with massive amount of parallel GPU's driving them and you can see absolutely every single thing that is typed on a computer, said on a phone (cell or hard line) is recorded for posterity and use against you...conservative or liberal.

You don't even have to search the stuff. I have every voice activated setting on my android turned off, all the security and privacy options set as strict as I can, yet several times have had face to face conversations with my wife or coworkers about something, and then shortly after start seeing ads for what we talked about. It's almost to the point I want to ditch the cell phone and go live under a rock, but they're so damn embedded in everyday life now. I did resist cell phones until I needed one for work in 2010, and then only had a flip phone for a few years, but finally sold my soul for a smartphone in probably 2013 or 2014. I ditched data for a while and had a strictly talk and text plan, but that doesn't seem to stop the data collection either. It blows me away how many people have no idea what insane permissions a lot of "free" apps require, it seems that many exist only to farm users data.

I keep my phone for as long as it works, my current phone is pushing 10 years old. Every new version has more spying and less freedom. I find it stunning that criminals use the things. The asshole at U of I who killed those four people cut his cell phone off halfway to the murders and on a few blocks away. He didn't cut it off on the 12 stalker missions prior to the attacks. They record everything all the time, secretly of course. Mine lives in a copper lined drawer when I want some peace and quiet. My cousin worked for a doctors office and noticed when he left his phone in his shirt pocket, it sent him ads based on what he was working on the computer. Mostly patient records! So much for HIPA, the ChiComs are gathering everything.

What's really crazy is all the ability to track people that the government has, yet they often don't use it. Back in 2019 a couple punk kids went on a road trip to northern BC and killed three people before driving halfway across the country and offing themselves in a swamp in northern Manitoba. Police had a massive manhunt all over the place looking for them, but they supposedly had at least one cell phone that they took photos and videos with. Same deal with the guy that shot up and burned half of Nova Scotia in 2020. It's almost as if they either don't want people to know how easily they can be tracked, or they want to have stuff like that happen at least once in a while to keep the people scared and begging for the government to "do something".

I was excited about a new episode of Nature, but it was about non white scientists being disrespected....

This is where you are incorrect. They do track them and they do monitor them. Allowing violent criminals to rampage benefits the FBI and the leftists they support in the USA and it also benefits the antigun, pro-communist Canadian government led by Castro's kid.

As long as the murderers are doing good works, i.e. killing innocent people with no relatives in the FBI or that aren't elected communists family members federal law enforcement simply allows the killings to run their course. The FBI gets bonus points for killing LGBQT or whatevers because it pushes the homo agenda too. 99% of the time a mass killer is either encouraged, supported, empowered, monitored and in many cases driven to the crime scene and armed by the fucking FBI.

How do they all manage to "get on the FBI radar"? Simple, the FBI has access to everyone monitored by the NSA and the DIA or some other agency screens them and forwards the most likely to be violent to them for grooming and encouragement.

The use it...............................................................for EVIL.

And have you noticed that every single scientist, naturalist, astronomer, historian, physicist, biologist, architect, engineer engineer, whatever that they have on these shows are now nappy headed or mammary-enabled tokens?

They’re not interviewing and representing the best scientists or engineers. They’re using nova and nature to try and prove a False-narrative that everything in science and engineering and history is done by persons of color or gender.

It actually is really pathetic because when you think about these people who are probably not awful in their fields, realizing that the only reason that they are being chosen to be on TV or interviewed… for any of these shows is because of their skin tone or tits. When their accomplishments are completely ignored, they are simply being used as tokens.

That’s sort of the worst racism of all, isn’t it?

“Well, we at PBS don’t care that you are an accomplished professional. We just want a negro lesbian on the screen. So shut up and dance like the good little Trained monkey we know you are.” — NOVA producers.

yeah, i watched an episode of Combat Ships, this one about "ships of the line" and admiral nelson...gibralter etc...
a significant part of the show was about how there was at least one black sailor that worked on one of the crews.
