I recently purchased a older rifle, Kimber Model 82 serial # 26X, listing said never fired, but no box. How would anyone ever prove fired or unfired, Arn't all rifles fired at the factory? I don't really care that much since I don't think I would ever own a rifle to just look at it--any help with this appreciated.

I'm guessing that's a rimfire, right? If it was a centerfire it's real easy to tell. Rimefire, not so much.

It is a Long Rifle-does it add value to say unfired, or is 150-200 rounds just as good?

I agree, not a collector, for sure or I would not have purchased without the friggin box, right!!!
