Got to break my panther sweet 16 in yesterday. Only about a 130 yard shot with Hornady 75gr HPBT. Entered taking out both lungs and busting far side sholder. Only went about 60 yards. I was a bit dissapointed in the blood trail the first 20 yards, not a drop. Got pretty heavy towards the end though.

Re: First Blood For AR

nice deer...I have moved to using an AR style rifle for hunting too. I am using a 6.8mm LWRCI with a Nosler 110 GR Accubond and it has killed two deer this year. I love when people see me hunting with my AR. They always give me funny looks.

I would love to use my 223 AR with a 70 GR TTSX round but I can't hunt deer in VA with a 22 caliber. That sucks.

Nice one, my first deer was yesterday morning with my Savage 12FV in .223 using 75 gr A-Max. It was a small buck probably about the size of your deer; he was 50 yards away and he stood still for 2-3 seconds and dropped flat. Dunno why I needed 500 yard bullet for that 50 yard shot but that's what I had with me. lol

Ya can't tell us stuff like this and not include a pic. Like has already been mentioned....Better to have and not need then to need and not have!
