Ok, so I'm thinking of embarking on my first bolt action build. Here are my preliminary findings/thoughts...
I'm 99% sure I want to chamber it in 264 win mag.
I want to do it in a savage action because of the ease of changing barrels for my first bolt build.
So here's my question... Is the Savage 110 action appropriate for a magnum cartridge, and if so are any mods necessary to adapt to the cartridge? Also, where should I start looking for the barrel?
Also, should I try and find a new action and build from scratch, or buy a savage rifle and re barrel? I'm looking to build the rifle for under $1k
