Hi everyone, very new to longer range shooting just got done building my first rifle and now on the hunt for the optic, something below 1,000$ with the "tree" reticle I have heard this is the best, if not please guide me to the best. I will not be hunting with this rifle. I was looking at the Athlon Ares BTR and Vortex Viper, also want FFP. Thanks for the help gents!

Athlons are hard to beat in value. Vortex as well, but I think the new athlons edge them out if price is a concern. For $1k I’d go Ares Etr. Viper pst gen2 is almost as good (not the gen 1). There are many other great options out there too. You don’t even need to spend $1k for a scope for your first. Do you need IR or zero stop? How much do you really want to spend max?
