First camo job. Used some Krylon camo, tan, OD, and brown. Then some Brownells matte clear coat. Nikon M223 3-12x42sf BDC with Warne PA rings low height on there. I can slide a dollar thru the stock EGW rail and bell, dont get much tighter than that. Rhineland Arms Savage MK II stock with a custom cheek piece and a Harris S bipod. Using CCI quiets in there mostly. Great for easy and quiet plinking and pest hunting. Sighted it in with those quiets and then marked the turrets and sighted it in with Winchester HV and M22 as well. 3 22 LR loads on 1 rifle. Was a fun build and a blast to shoot.

Looks good. I do like the, 3 - .22lr load zeroing on one scope idea.

Check out Trevor's last two sentences in his post. I think that's what he's referring to? Marking his scope turret for 3 different loads so he can dial in depending on which round he is using at the time? I think that's it?

Now that's a looker! I like that the camo isn't overbearing, nice and subtle. Enjoy it!

Just one question though, what do you think of the LOP on that stock? I have the same stock and it seems just a little to big for me.

AZ,

Great little trick I've seen before and am still in teh process of perfecting is having multiple loads for one rifle and scope setup. Its really not too hard and easier to do on a 22 being that the intended range of the rifle is much less. You zero one load, mark the turret with a colored pen/paint, zero the second load and write down which direction you move the turrets, use a different color pen/paint, same with the third. Just a few minutes remembering the directions and a small dope card and youre are set with three different loads on one rifle that have 3 different zeros. I did this because my CCI quiets have a crazy quick drop to them and are very different then HV rounds.

Boxcar,

Thanks! I wanted a subtle pattern to work with my terrain, north west Illinois and Wisconsin, spring and summer. I'll have to measure the LOP to confirm. I almost needed ext. rings to get the scope far back enough because of the MK II platform and rail. I didnt need to extend the butt pad at all though.

Trevor & Joe... thanks for explanation. I usually don't need things spelled out for me:p but I appreciate y'all having patience. Thanks fellas:D

Trevor... another question. How do you like those CCI quites? Are they accurate out to 50yds? Considering reasonable and/or no wind, of course. Reason I ask, I have a few hundred of those, haven't shot 'em yet. I bought them figuring they'd be good for rimfire pistol (and because they were there), but if they're good for precision rifle practice... bonus :D

AZ,

I love them! Clapping my hands is louder so no need for hearing protection, at least out of that rifle. I had a zero at 35 yards and at least thru this Savage they were dead on with each shot. Didn't and havent had any strays flying away. I tried them thru my P22 and they actually cycled, though they didnt out of a Mark III. So, in a semi pistol, don't count on them cycling.

They do have a quick drop, so using them out of this Nikon with a BDC is not bad at all. Depending on your zero, if you stay there, they are a hoot to shoot.

BSA makes a 22 scope set up for 3 bullet weights & various ranges $55 at Natchess. Also for the 17 hmr & 223.
I just ordered the 17 hmr & it goes out to 300 yds. Never been a BSA fan but for $55 I'll try it?

All depends on your load. 22's drop so fast and the CCI Quiets that im using wont match up to any turret. It was easier to mark mine and I'm set. Was more important for my build to invest in a scope that I could bump around the turrets often and still come back to my zero's.
