Hi! Ive been reading here for sometime now and this is my first post. My goal is to eventually shoot at 1000 yards and generally be the best long range shooter I can be. Practice and doing my part of course. I want to het some skill before jumping into a really pricey custom build. I chose a savage 16/116 FLHSS .308 to start my build. Macmillan A5 and Vortex Viper PST in MOA because everybody in my area uses MOA and I havent found any advantages of MRAD vs MOA yet. ATM I dont know how to use either... Pretty new to this. I chose Savage over Rem 700 because im familiar with savage and have no experience with Remington. I know savage can be quite accurate out of tue box but I am trying to figure out what can be done to make this rifle as accurate as it can be mechanically. Im having some trouble sifting through all the info out there so I thought I would ask here and get the opinion of some folks with more experience in long range rifle builds. Also any advice or input in general to help me along the path of making good shots. Thanks !
