getting into long range shooting, picked up a rem aac sd in 308 with 20 inch barrrel.

ordering a vortex scope and larue 20 moa mount, but i'm stuck on stocks. everything i read is that the hogue stock puts too much pressure on the barrel. I want to look at other stocks, but the 400$+ price tag is giving me a little sticker shock.

can someone help me find value versus quality middle range in finding a new stock?

or if someone has a beater stock laying around, I could buy it from them?

first post here gents, glad to be here. I hope to learn much and have some fun!

For a Remington you can find a lot of aftermarket support out there. There are a lot of stock makers for the remington 700. Personally I would stay away from the HS Precision brand. I bought one for a Savage build I did and I've had nothing but problems with it. I've literally broken the plastic (or what ever the hell it is) shell they use around their stocks like 3 times now. I'm getting really tired of patching it up at this point.

But if you want to see what your options are google stockeys stocks, they are one supplier of stocks that have a pretty good selection. Good luck.
