Yesterday I finally got to shoot my savage model 12 .223 that I picked up used. I ordered and viper 6.5-20x50 mildot for it. It was also my first time shooting past 100 yards. (I know) but I am pretty impressed with the it being a completely factory rifle. I grouped 5 shots roughly 2-3in at 200yds and roughly 5-6in at 400. I used my hand loads for these groupings. First was 50g hornady Zmax and the other was hornady 68g match hp. They grouped pretty much the same for me except I did notice that the 68g holes looked a lot cleaner than the 50g at 400. Also we shot off a table and crappy lead sled.
