First Time With .308

My 7 year old son and I went out for a little range time. This was first time ever behind a High Power rifle. After going over the fundamentals and a few dry fires I asked him to shoot the target anywhere, which resulted in a "DEAD" gut shot pig. Next two shots I had him hold on the red triangle, not bad for his first time, and a 100 yards to boot! I am a proud dad with a new shooting buddy!

So i bet he is hooked. I bet he is already asking when the next shooting trip is going to be. Sorta how my love of shooting started out. I know you have to be one proud dad!!

Thanks Guys, he is eating up all the comments. He is stoked now. I am already thinking about a .223 for him.
Here is a pic of my daughter last year,she is twelve in this pic. She shot her first Hi-power when she was three, and took her first deer when she was eight, a nice doe at 200 yds. with my 7mm Rem mag, she only weighed 56 lbs. at the time.She is quite the shot as well.Now she uses a 7mm-08 and I feel a little better about the recoil for her.

I just had my first child, a boy, and I can't wait for him to grow up so that I can take him out. Its good to have another in the community. Lord knows we don't need any more against us. Great job!!

That's awesome. I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a high powered rifle at that age.
