I am needing a scope for my 24" barrel upper. I will be shooting prarie dogs at 100-600yds. I like the price of the swfa ss fixed 20x. Will this do the job for me or do you guys recommend something else. I would like to stay under $500.

Thanks

Re: Fixed power optic

It'll do the job well enough, but if you're going to shoot more at the closer ranges than the further, I'd go with less magnification.

Re: Fixed power optic

I do not recommend too high power fixed optic for P-dogs. Your FOV will be so small and if you happen to see one with your naked eye it will be slow to transition to your scope. You can try to scan with your scope but you could be missing a lot of potential targets. So far my favorite p-dog scope is the Bushnell HDMR with H-58/H-59. I like something with a low end of 4 power and a top end of at least 15 or higher.
