I use lapua brass in my 308. I have a honed out Forster FL die that I size my case's with. When I open a new box of brass the first thing I do is chamfer the inside and outside of the case's then do the other case prep work. I have had to send this die back 3 times to get the neck portion of the die cleaned out because the die starts putting all those scratches around the outside portion of my necks.
My routine is shoot, tumble, anneal, resize, tumble again then trim and chamfer again.
Why do I still get these scratches on the outside of my necks?
After they send it back it does fine for about 20 or 30 cases. My cases are spotless when I run them up in that die.
I load for a lot of different calibers with different dies and cases and never have this problem with them, just Lapua.
How can this be fixed?
