Rifle Scopes Flip Up Lens Cover Question

Just curious. I have flip up covers as you can see. The objective side has a cover that just kinda snaps closed, and you pull open. But the eyepiece has a little yellow button that you push and it flips up and open. Why is this button only on the eyepiece and not the objective?

In theory, I guess you could put an eyepiece cover on your objective lens if you really wanted...do you feel that you need a push-button latch on the objective cover?

The eyepiece has the push-button flip latch so that you push forward to open. Same theory with the objective cover...just push forward to open.
