I see you can steal people's pin numbers off key pads with these.

I have altered my method of entering my pin so all the keys will light up if someone tries that with me.

Amazing tech.

What kind of range does it have?

The range is good, in general, but it performs poorly in low / no light conditions.

Where it is useful is close range / lighted conditions... for example, I was looking at the electrical panel with it the other day at the range house, and could easily see one overloaded switch as well as a breaker that was over 150F.

Neat.

If you want to see the stuff in a dark environment: Forget getting a clear picture... you'll get a blob and far worse definition than seems to make sense. At distance it seems to be hard to distinguish anything...
