I am going to Texas for elr rife training. Was going to bring 3 guns. 7 saum on foundation stock 29lbs, 375 cytec 36lbs, 6.5 creed more ar10 17lbs

The 7 saum and 375 fit into 1750 cases and one more case for the 6.5 or try to fit multiple guns into one case. I will have one other checked bag.

Fly from Hartford in ct

Thanks joe

It seems like an exercise in frustration trying to lug that much around via air travel. I’d stick with 1 gun.

This is immediately what I pictured.

One rifle case. If you can fit two in then have at it but I wouldn’t bring more than one case. I’d leave the AR for a ELR class.

Also ship all your ammo ahead of time if you didn’t already.

And get to the airport EARLY! Bradley isn’t bad to fly out of but sometimes the TSA can be a pain in the ass.

I recently flew through IAH and LAX (only due to last minute change) with a gun.

It was surprisingly straightforward, even in LAX, IAH was a breeze. TSA was a little annoying at check-in but it didn't add a huge amount of time.
I flew with United and their system for handling guns was extremely easy.

But as others said, gun cases are long, heavy, bulky, and a pain in the ass to lug around. I had 1 rifle but a tone of other gear and it added up very quickly, probably about 70lb worth of stuff (including the rifle), trying to carry 3 heavy guns, the extra gear, and generally stuff you need for traveling will be a nightmare.

2 guns in one case, and one extra checked bag would be as much as I'd want to take.

Whatever you do; Do yourself a favor and have someone drop you off and pick you up if traveling alone. As soon as you get to terminal to grab a cart. Trying to wheel multiple bags around is futile. Those airport carts when traveling with pelicans are a godsend. When I travel to a match it's about 150 lbs of gear total, and that is leaving all but bare minimum at home. 53lb gun case im3300, 53 lb pelican air and carryon with bags/scope/binos/kestrel plus cloths and shit for 4 days. It's a lot more than you would think.

There is a way to travel while minimizing baggage fees but it takes work.
