Curious if anyone has had a problem with the M70 ejectors failing. I only have 450 rounds down the pipe so its not like its had thousands of rounds through it. Also, could temp have played a role. According to my phone it was 111.5 at the firing line. There was one other person with a Remmy 700 action doing the same thing but it only did it for a couple rounds and that was it. The guy I was shooting with had a Savage and had no problems all day. Is there some something I should be looking for that tends to fail or should I just call FN about the issue.

Re: FN A3G failure to eject

How about some more information, and a more detailed description of the failure.

1. How much rearward speed/force are you using when cycling the bolt? Win70s/SPRs are designed to leave spent cases in the action if you run the bolt really easy.

2. Assuming you were running the bolt hard enough to eject, did the spent case make an attempt at exiting the action?

3. Was the rifle feeding cartridges from the magazine properly?

4. Have you checked to see that your ejector is free-moving, and not stuck down?

To more directly answer your specific question: No, Win70s and FN SPRs are *not* noted as having ejection or extraction issues, and don't have parts that are known for failure. Actually, it is considered one of the most reliable actions ever created.

Re: FN A3G failure to eject

Just take the bolt out, twist the claw extractor off. Clean it
And put it back on. Then try that.
No tools needed on FN bolts.

The 700 rem. prob. Just had the exstractor spring stuck. It loosen
Up and started working once more.

I have 1000 + rounds throught my A-3G no prob.
Hope this helps.
