I have a FN that is producing primers that are bulging back into the firing pin hole of the bolt. I just recently switched primers from CCI 200's to CCI BR2's, also I went from 165gr HPBT being pushed by Varget, to 155 SMK being pushed by RL15. I pulled the bolt and noticed one spot on the firing pin hole was radiused and shiny?? I have never seen this before. Also the hole looks a little oblong. What should I do?

Re: FN Firing Pin Hole?

I had the same issue with one of my SPRs. Send the bolt out to Greg Tannel, Gre Tan Gunsmithing, in RIFLE Colorado. Greg turns down the firing pin to a smalled diameter and installs a bushing in the bolt face. IIRC his bushing supports the FP more than the stock bolt, adding another benefit.

It costs around $60, and you'll have your bolt back in a week.
