and one described as FNH Heavy Barrel M16A4 20" Barrel Upper KAC Quadrail.

Has anyone came across this type of upper with this barrel? Does anyone know about the heavy barrel info and markings. Is this a CHF barrel? Thanks

Thanks for the reply SAMR! I did find out that the M16A4 heavy barrel is marked ''FN'' - 3S679 - MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 same as the govt. contour barrel cold hammer forge. Some of the FN Ar15 barrels are not cold hammer forge.

Here is the honest truth. You can't get a real clone from FN commercially. Their military guns are build according to the TDP and they are contractually prohibited from using that information on commerical guns. So unless you score a surplus fn upper/parts you are most likely getting subpar parts. Colt who actually owned/owns the TDP doesn't have to follow the same restrictions. If you want a true clone upper, go colt or scour for a fn surplus upper on the grey market.

Primus, Thanks for that reply. There is some M16A4 FN uppers on Gunbroker. Barrels are marked ''FN'' - 3S679 - MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 with
Knight Armament M5 Rail system /w 8 - different rib size covers / all are KAC cover's . Upper Receiver has ''F'' ''CERRO''Keyhole'' Forge Marks ''T''mark top ,bright white letter's (Carry Handle '''Square '' forge). Surplus FN uppers? Take a look and see what you think?
