Gunsmithing FN PBR/ARC Magazines!

So I have this crazy thought in my head about using ARC Mags for the 2.970" internal capacity advertised by ARC in my FN PBR build. I will be doing an inlet into a McMillan A3G and would like to know from those in the know what bottom metal(s) will work for this application? and what if any modifications will be needed to the receiver?

I have several Win M70's, all have been modified to accept DBM systems.

Of those that I have, they are either CDI or PTG bottom metal.

My personal preference is the CDI.

CDI will inlet your stock and modify your receiver.

All of mine use AI mag's except for the 7WSM which uses Accurate mag's.

That is good to know, I would like to use ARC magazines and from my understanding, they are an AICS pattern.
What modifications did CDI make to your receiver?, any additional information you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

There is a bit of machine work that needs to me done to allow for the fit of the AICS
Mags on the bottom of the receiver. There used to be a thread with the entire process done by Scimitar, But I couldn’t find it just now with a search. But box up the gun, call CDI precision And let him take care of getting it done. Seen too many hack jobs where somebody Tried to do it with a dremal tool. I have used the CDI DBM on my modified FNs
For years for 308 and 7WSM. That’s the way to go.

I have FNH TBM, FN one-piece floor plates for magazine and blind feed and cannot decide between them . The round I wish to shoot varies between 2.850" or so for the short free-bore and 3.00" for the long free-bore. I think I can get the blind magazine to feed 3.0" if I remove the spacer plate but then I'm limited to 5 rounds top feed , the one piece fp mag is a definate NO GO so the receiver modification with the ARC or AICS is what I'm leaning towards. I guess I need to talk to Clayton @WTO to get his opinion on my options for my needs! , He will be doing the build and modifications.

Tbm is cheap, drop in and works well. Hard to argue against it. I have then in 2 fn spr and going to use it in my spr 6.5 custom.

The cartridge I'm building around is the 7SAW and for the heavies or the slipperies 3" is about the limit, the 162/168s will work with the FNH TBM but just barely if 6.5CM were my choice the FN would be a no brainer for me! I really like the magazine release position on the FN system so I have a customer that is an aerospace machinist and gun nut and plan on buying an ARC magazine as a sacrificial lamb and letting him have his way with the parts to see what he can come up with!. The ARC will not get me to 3.0" but it will get me to 2.970" and I think I can live with that! unless anyone can steer me towards a true 3" SA M-70 magazine feed alternative?
