I do not know if this topic has been covered. I searched and found someone asked about those 2, but nobody old the difference between them.

I know they have differen stocks, but other than that, any difference? I found that comparing to similar barrel configuration, SPR is about 2 pounds heavier than TSR. Stock difference cannot make such a big weight difference.

I am looking for a 308win light sniper rifle of 20 inch barrel, better below 9 lbs.

The SPR has a heavier contour barrel, that will account for the weight difference.
The SPR actions are said to be trued from the factory, I don't know if this is true of the TSR

The TSR would be a good start..although you will want to throw away the Hogue stock.
The Remington LTR, compact tactical and AAC-SD are good bases as well

LTR is very light, only 7.5 lb, why? Is it because LTR has much lighter contour than TSR?

I heard both very positive and negative things about LTR, so am a little concerned about their QC.

The LTR has a fluted Remington Varmint contour. I don't know the exact muzzle diameter compared to the TSR. The wider flutes on the LTR may contribute. The action itself is lighter. The HS precision stock may be lighter as well (it's hollow, filled with foam)

BC and HS stocks have aluminum mini chassis but McMillan does not.

So McMillan depends more on proper bedding.

I know A3G has good bedding and is accurate but am not sure about A1a. If the bedding is not excellent, maybe it is better to use HS stock?

I probably found another difference between SPR and TSR.

SPR had chrome lined barrel but FN did not say TSR has chrome lined barrel.

The SPR is indeed trued by FN. The TSR is not.

The Hogue stock on the FN's is not like the Hogue stock Remington puts on the 700s. The FN one is much stiffer and much higher quality. Not "tactical" like a McMillan or Manners, but not a tupperware noodle like the Remington Hogue, either.
