For Army, Bunny and my other two-wheeler addicts...

Too much Ghee. If you dont do it in cut off jeans and a T shirt, barefoot, youre a pussy.

I wonder if the guy at 3:54 survived. that was nasty.

I would say he did. All I do is nasty trauma. Lots of motorcycles and high speed crashes in cars. Also autos vs bicycles, people on foot, drag racing, and high mountain sports here in CO. I also see all the old people who slip and bust a hip too.
Most people get the worse injured from deceleration or striking something in an area that injures a solid organ (kidney, liver, spleen) or a really bad pelvis. The point where that guy "hopped" is where I wonder if he struck something or it was just the angle of the hill and his velocity that made him hop. If the latter, I say he lived.

All said, I enjoyed that video, its always cool to see athletes at the very top end performing at that level. No matter the sport and if I would do it like that. Kinda like the big mountain skiers, I like steep, deep, and fun. Their way of doing it is a certain injury when something goes wrong.

Thanks, Powda. I lost a good friend a few years ago to a cycle. Went into a curve too fast, lost it, and hit a metal guard rail. died instantly. Messd his wife up as well. I quit riding years ago after dropping one at 70 and walking away. I looked at all my buddies who rode and evey one of them had serious lifetime injuries. I realized that lack of controll of the right hand was going to kill me so I hung it up.

The Isle of Mann TT races have claimed more lives than any sport ever known to man. IIRC, the last count was > 155. And that may have been a couple of years ago and has increased since then.

edit: Jeez, I was way off. The 155 number was as of 1990. 2005 was a particularly bad year, with 11 fatalities. At the conclusion of the 2017 races (June 2017), the toll stands at 255.

I will add that American Flat Track Racing has it's spills and thrills also. Damn, I miss those days.
I pay for them now with my knees and other assorted and sundry parts, but football and especially the flat track have taken their toll on me.
Would I do it different today? Fuck no, That was great fun and I really do miss it.
At 69 years old I am known to go get on a bike at the track and put in a few hot laps just to let these young WhipperSnappers know how it is done.
Put your best wheel forward, Sliding Sideways and plan or hope for the best. FM

The deceleration is the kicker for sure. I lowsided a 600 supersport bike on turn 8 at willow springs about 15 years ago. I was wide open in 5th gear, knee down, at 135 or so. I distinctly remember lifting my head and looking between my toes as the world went round and round as I pinwheeled in the gravel. Slid for a long long way. The bike even further. Absolutely, 100%, the most gentle crash I ever had. Was a good race too, was bummed it ended.

Jeep, I am the worst of the worst as to posting pictures so I can't cast stones.
However, was this one of the Horny Hefty Honeys that used to be posted here so we all needed Eye Bleach? I can't remember the poster's name but someone will. so help me out here guys. I miss him as he had a sick sense of humour much like my own. He left during the Scout thing and never came back.
