It appears the Gen 1 2011 mags are no longer available and have been replaced with the Staccato mags which still work in the older guns and are priced about where the Gen 1 mags were, so no issue with that.
I'm looking on Dawsons website and he is selling MBX mags and those puppies are around $130 each. Has anyone had experience with them and are they worth almost double the price of the Staccoto mags, and if so whatmakes them worth that much more. I know Dawson is high on his stuff, but wow... These seem a little over the top.
I've got 6 of the Gen 1's that are practically brand new, but if there is a more reliable mag out there, I would look at it for my Eagle, since I do carry it sometimes.
Always looking for a better mousetrap.

I no experience with the Staccato mags but had some MBX mags and the STI mags (all with Dawson plates) and I never noticed a difference between them. They all ran 100%. Personally I’d just but the Staccato mags, I’d be surprised if there’s any difference in them and the STI’s.

The MBX Extreme mags are good to go. Compared to my Gen1 mags... I'd say they are slightly more reliable and easy to tune.

You could order directly from MBX.

All of my Gen 1's are like new, and with six of them in the stable, I'm not sure more are needed. I'm just looking ahead at the election, and if the political winds do not favor us, high cap pistol mags may be unattainable. Just don't know how many is enough. Short of running over one in the parking lot, the tubes last forever, and springs and followers should always be available somewhere. I've only got one 2011 in 9MM.

There was a time when STI mags may or may not work without tuning in some custom builds. Not a problem with the gen 1 stainless mags and with last gen 1 factory guns.
If you're getting MBX mags, make sure you get the followers with the slide lock function that suits your needs.

Oh, I'm not paying $130 for a mag when I have 6 brand new STI's. I was just wondering what made them cost so much more than the standard STI mag.

MBX are great mags, I have shot them for years with no issues. They are priced at what it would cost you to outfit an STI mag with aftermarket spring, follower and extended basepads. MBX mags are ideal if you are running 9mm. I do think new gen STI mags fixed that whereas the older STI mags required a spacer in order to function.

Fuck mbx and the English prick that sells them.

Nothing wrong at all with the Gen 1 mags especially if you put grams engineering springs and followers in them.

There is actually 2 versions of the Gen 2 mags. The first version had a few problems with some guns if they used the stock spring and follower. The newest version are probably the second best 2011 mag you can get besides SV mags.

I'll post pictures of how to tell witch version of the Gen 2 mags when I get home.

If you use grams guts like I said above they will run 100% in all guns. You will have to tune the follower and your slide stop if you want reliable lock back, but.... You really should not have your slide lock back on a 2011 because if you over insert a 2011 mag it will bend or break off your ejector and then you have a really expensive single shot. Soooo cut your followers completely where it engages your slide stop and eliminate the lock back all together.

Another great thing about the new mags is the holes in the back with numbers to tell you how many is in there if shooting limited 10 or pro am knock down style match

So here are 2 of the new sti mags. There are corrections made with the upper portion of the body on the second version of the second version.

The newest ones is the one on the right that says 9/38. They didn't make many of the ones that only say 9mm.
