This is long-ish read so save for later, but a good read on a guy who worked in places most of us will likely never see. Some insights we have heard, but a bit more depth in the matters of Deep State.

Mr. Wright makes a powerful argument. The following excerpt hammers home how dangerous it will be if the Left and their media and Deep State allies win in 2020:

"...the treachery of modern Deep State actors – Comey, Brennan, and Clapper – is that they wanted to overrule the American voters. They wanted to upend the free and fair election of Donald Trump. They wanted to choose a different leader to run the nation. Their purpose in leaking to the media was to take out a duly-elected president because they either didn’t like the guy or they wanted Hillary Clinton to win. Many of them, I suspect, liked Clinton because they knew that they were going to have positions of authority or influence in her administration.

That degree of audacity I think is new, and I think that it is incredibly dangerous. And the lack of focus on that treachery is one of the profound lost opportunities of our political class, particularly on the Left, of the past few years. They could have said, “The actions of Comey, Clapper, and Brennan were horrifically wrong and they should face justice. And, meanwhile, we oppose the president on X, Y, and Z policies.” That would have been the right thing to do. As an opposition party, you can do both of those things, but that’s not what the Left has done. That’s certainly not what Pelosi and Schumer and our friends Rep. Adam Schiff and Rep. Jerry Nadler are doing right now with the impeachment.

All of this has been 100% focused on bringing down the president from day one, instead of having a much more balanced, nuanced approach to his presidency. And I think, and frankly I hope, that that’s why the Democratic Party loses in 2020. I don’t know of any other way to get rid of the rot that is in Washington, and within the leadership of the Democratic Party. Because if a progressive wins – Sen. Elizabeth Warren or, God forbid, Sen. Bernie Sanders – or even if Joe Biden wins,
the lesson for the Democratic leadership, the lesson for the media, will not be that their treachery was bad, but that it worked."

I didn't vote for Trump in 2016 (or for any other candidate; just left that race blank) but I'll be damn sure to vote for him this year. I have a deep dislike for the man, but right now his re-election appears to be the best hope to prevent our country from tipping irreversibly onto a path leading towards full-on, authoritarian socialism. Trump is a deeply imperfect vessel for the job, but realistically, there's no one else available to do it.

Just noticed that Part 2 of the interview is now posted here.

Attaboy. Maybe you can convince a few other non-Trumpers too that the alternative to the Orange Man is cultural and economic suicide.

I bet if I sat down to drink a beer with Trump, I would want to punch him the mouth after about 5 minutes. I think he is a dick but I sure as hell will vote for him because everyone I have ever hated in government is shit scared of him.

    Because he's not a politician.

He doesn't drink is another bonus..... if you look at what drinking did for the Kennedy clan. :sneaky:

I tell you what sitting down for a drink with Trump, him with Coke, me with Bulleit Rye, that would be a hell of a lot more enjoyable than sitting down with just about anyone currently taking all the media on the Dem side.

Trump and I would likely find something to talk about, granted he will claim he did it better, bigger and "yuger", but there is just nothing socially attractive about the likes of Schiff, Nadler, schumer, Pelosi, Warren, etc.

Bernie at least is honest in his insanity.

Tulsi Gabbard would confuse me when her man voice emanates from her Milfy cuteness.

I feel much the same way til you got to Tulsi she is brutal on my eyes! Bernie bless his little heart his grasp of basic financial concepts is a lil scary, but he believes it tooth and nail. All these kooks from L to R want to spend it all til we have a global debt instrument bonfire ugh. I cannot fathom pulling the lever for a Democrat in this election one would have to be near brain death knowing what they stand for at this point....which is a sad statement on the American population.
