In some older threads I saw a mention of replacing internal parts of a Forster ultra micrometer seating dies to make new seating dies in different calibres, but I don't see much talk of this more recently. Is this still a viable option or did it fall out of favour?
Current publications indicate compatibility between similar sized calibres. For example the .223 Rem, 6BR, and 6CM seater die schematic diagrams indicate the constructions only differ by using two unique parts: chambers and seating stems. The latter are available as spare parts for modest money ($30,$15).
In thoery one could assemble them to get working seating dies in other calibres.
Just curious what peoples views on this are currently.
