Field Precision Rifle Match for March 10, 2012

The 2012 season got off to a great start with 23 shooters showing up for the match. Unfortunately, one competitor had to withdraw after only 4 sighting shots due to a mechanical issue. Another had to leave in his 3rd string when his scope malfunctioned. 21 shooters finished the match and some close scores were turned in.
The No Rear Bag group saw 10 shooters start the match, but only 8 finished. Rob Westfall shooting a 6BRX out of a sling took top honors in this group with a 592-21X. Brian Alexander held off 2 strong competitors to take 1st place with a 582-20X. Only 2 points were the difference between 1st and 3rd.
In the Rear Bag class, 13 folks fought it out. Terry Cross was the winner, shooting a nice 588-18X. Ray McClain held off Terry’s son Luke to best him in the X count to take 1st place shooting a 584-21X.
For at least 12 competitors, this was their first match with us. We hope they enjoyed it and will come shoot with us again.
To those folks who made the drive from central Louisiana and from Mississippi, we say thanks and please come back.
