I picked up a Spanish FR8 rifle recently. Great shape, almost new barrel. My question would be, should I send the bolt away and have it bent or keep it stock (kind of) with the straight bolt?
I would leave it as is since the FR8 is a collectors rifle and it can fetch a good price if the market is right. Also, no matter what you do to the action, it will never make it cycle any better. It's kind of like shifting a non synchro transmission, you just have to feel your way through it.
If you will ever sell it, leave it as is however if you are going to keep it do as you like. I had an FR8 that had the bolt bent and it was nicer to cycle than the straight bolt Spanish M43
