Hi guy's,
I can't seem to find the information I'm looking for anywhere else.
I've purchased an FR8 'carbine', only the stock top hand guard has a cut away - I'm assuming for where the rear leaf/V sight was situated on the host rifle.
Does anyone know why this is so? An FR8 I used to own (sold) did not have this, however it did have a a higher serial number and later manufacture date (1956).
The current FR8 serial number is 09507 (unsure of the date as I am still waiting for delivery, however I'm thinking 1950/51 from some reading I've done).
Just for a bit of background info; I'm in Australia, and this is only the 3rd FR8 I have found for sale in 2 years. My first FR8 was purchased for $900AUD, my latest purchase, $545AUD. Pretty sad really, for a $120USD rifle.
Thoughts and comment appreciated. The only picture I have, is a dealer picture as I have not taken possession of the firearm yet.
Thanks,
