So one of my coworkers is from Louisiana and got me started on coffee with chicory in it. We order from Community Coffee, in Louisiana. They are currently offering a "Military Match". Basically they will duplicate my order and send to an APO/FPO address.
SO: Try their coffee, it's pretty good.
And my matching order goes to the first address I get- PM and post "Done" please.

Thanks again, 1911Fan.

I'll be sure to notify Patrick and get any thank yous from him to pass on to you and the company.

Here's a pic of the lucky guy.

Yes, he really does use a cigarette holder. Interesting guy to say the least.

He's a Scout in 1-32 CAV in the 101st.

That's an interesting marketing idea.

I would encourage a similar program at the individual level:

There's a coffee shop on my way to work with an Army and a Marine recruiting office nearby. I have yet to see a soldier or a Marine pay for his own coffee there.

A few years ago in Kingsville I was eating a local restaurant with several students from a class at RO. Someone paid our bill and left a note that said "Thank you for your service."

My wife and I paid for the breakfast of a Korean war vet the other day. He was eating alone.

Perhaps more of us should do this kind of thing for servicepeople as a matter of routine and without taking credit for our generosity at the time. It might make our country a better place for those who have sacrificed on our behalf.

I donate money at Starbucks, those Vias or whatever they are, to the troops, my brother in law said they were really nice to have over in Iraq. We might think it seems kind of stupid, but something of home is pretty powerful.

Granted I live in perhaps one of the most kick ass pro military areas in the whole damn world, but, I bet this is a national thing. I got some goofy cold water starbucks thing for winning a raffle for putting in for the Coffee for Troops thing.

I go nuts without coffee, I seriously could run a squirrel down and kill it with a cell phone, till my first cup.
