Gunsmithing free floated Marlin 880

I have a Marlin bolt action 880. They only use one screw to secure the action. Most of the guns i have free floated the barrel on before have two screws. Is it possible to add a second action screw? Or would you add extra bedding under 2 inches to the rear of the barrel to keep everything snug. thanks.

I bedded the entire stock on mine. Then torque the screws down to 30 or 40 inch pounds. Shoots great.
