Looking for an update on the Frontier ammo. I have researched and googled but haven’t found anything showing that the problems are still present, I can’t find any new lot numbers. I picked up two boxes yesterday, prior to researching this ammo. 1 box of 50/rnd 55gr X193 and 1 20rnd box of 75gr “match” bullet. I have the lot numbers for them. Also is it still an issue to shoot through 5.56 or .223 wylde chamber? I “read” that one or the other causes an issue....no idea.

I’ve not heard of any issues with this Ammo, but I’ve shot Frontier in both 223 Rem and 556nato, 55, 68, and 75gr, and all have performed good in my AR’s. Actually, their 55gr Ammo is what I use almost exclusively for my 2 gun matches. Have shot in rifles chambered in 556 and in 223 wylde, and so far so good.

I read reports of it over on arf, but I have shot hundreds of rds of it through various guns and I like it. The 75 gr shoots great in every rifle I have and I never had one issue with the 55 gr either.

I use the 223 55gr spire point in my suppressed 16” carbine for varmint control. Kills possums, dillos, and coons out to 200yd. Good enough for me.

I shoot the 75gr from my 26" Wylde chambered Savage bolt gun and get 2916 fps and 1/2" groups. I think it's loaded pretty hot, but it holds together. It uses a cannelured bullet so the BC is lower than their regular 75gr BTHP, but other than that I have no complaints.

I use the 75 gr ammo all of the time. No issues at all. I am also getting right at MOA with it, so not too bad for factory bulk ammo.

5.56 is fine in .223 wylde. Just don't use it in a plan .223 barrel.

I use Frontier for my plinking/gen. use, ammo (62 & 68 gr., 5.56mm) and have not had ANY issues after 1800 rounds. I believe their issues were with the m-193 spec. stuff, but hopefully it's been resolved. Mac

I've had some great experiences with the .223 55gr HP Match and 5.56 62gr Match. I didn't chrono the 62gr match from my WOA barrel it was stupid accurate, especially for the price, easily inside 1 MOA. The 55gr HP match was pretty good out of a Springfield Armory SAINT Victor, which isn't a match grade set up by any means but it had it had an average of 1.46 MOA for four 5-shot groups. It also did reasonably well out to 480 yards with the same gun. I'm going to try it in my SPR and Recce to see how it does out of the WOA barrels. BTW out of that SAINT Victor w/ 16" barrel the average MV was 2719 fps with an ES=69 and a SD=27.

I have had good luck with their 75gr Match stuff as well. I can consistently get inch groups with it and for the price, its awesome. I remember hearing something about it on arf as well, but I have had no issues with the ammo.

Intrigued by the velocity claim of 2860 fps on the box I bought one.
I have 2 WOA barrels, both Wylde chambers 1-7" twist

18" barrel ------ 26" barrel
2749 ----- 2901
2737 ------ 2907
2764 ----- 2938
2740 ----- 2945
2745 fps ----- 2932 fps

no pressure signs and accurate
not sure what barrel length they used to get 2860 fps

I straight up love the 75gr frontier loading. It uses their TAP t2 bullet which is proven.

My rifles shoot it at 1.5 MOA for 10 shot groups, honestly couldn't ask for more. It's my go to for consistency and price for non match ammo. My 16" guns shoot it at 2700 fps, it's pretty stout.

I've read the arfcom stuff and honestly think it's overblown, and only with the m193 stuff. I've had great results and experiences and will continue to buy it.
