Savage Model 12 BVSS. 26” heavy fluted barrel, 1:12 twist.

I bought this rifle, took it apart for a build and ended up changing my mind. I used the bolt out of it in another rifle and that rifle is shooting so well, I do not want to take it down just to get the bolt back out of it, so I put another bolt I had in this rifle. These rifles are high when purchasing. Think they go for around $950 new and $600 -$700 on the used market. I’ll let this one go for $425 shipped only because it will need minor work when received. If I end up putting it back factory, $425 won’t touch it.

Here’s what the rifle will need.

* Head Spaced - I do not have gauges for 22-250 so the rifle will need that. I only have the barrel but hand tight. I bought the rifle to convert it to 6CM but used another action I had.

* Safety fixed - It works, but doesn’t click into the three positions. I have something amiss when I put the trigger back in the action.

* Blind box mag is missing from inside the stock. That will need replaced.

I was seriously looking for a bolt for your action when you had it for sale, I need a mag bolt head.

Is this gone?

It’s back up guys. Local trade fell through. I have put the factory bolt back in the rifle since I posted the pictures. PM me if interested.

I fixed the safety on it. Will still need the box mag and follower unless you wanna convert it to a single shot.

If I didn’t already have a sweet shooting 250? I’d be all over this!!

If it helps the sell any? I’ll give a max box, spring and follower to the buyer.

Making this a harder deal to pass up! I've already got a Tikka T3 Varmint in 22-250, but the BVSS is a beautiful rifle!

If no one picks it up @long range dogr , I’ll get with you on the box mag and follower. I’m trying to give someone a deal on a super nice rifle. I’m gonna give it until Monday, and if it’s not sold, I’m gonna just spend the $50 for the head space gauges, set it up, and if you and I can work something out on a box mag and follower, the price is gonna go up several hundo when I get it put back to factory configuration.

Headspace has been set. Sourced some gauges locally from a local shop.

I have this same rifle in a 22-250 as well. We found a mistake in savages brochure that showed a 1-9 twist. Savage honored the misprint and put a 1-9 twist barrel on it for us. Shot it for along time, extremely accurate rifle. I drilled a couote at 590 yards with my handloads.
I bought an action and barrel wrench and head space gauges. I rechambered the rifle to a 260. Very easy job to do. If anyone needs advice or questions please message me.
