So I went to Marksman in Puyallup to take advantage of the Blue Label Glocks for a new G26 for my wife, but Marksman changed their rules sometime ago and don't deal those to disabled vets anymore. Hate how those fuckers like to grin when they tell you they are fucking you over, like no more deals, gotta wait two days for us to do your paperwork before picking up your transfer, no info over phone so get to drive in to find out they don't have it or want a first born child for it, etc.. Figured if I had to pay $500-$550, I wasn't gonna pay tax and wasn't gonna pay them.
We went to Ft. Lewis instead, pretty decent selection of many varieties of pistols (most of the popular ones minus HK's) couple M1A's, AR's, 10/22's including takedowns, shotguns and hunting rifles. But turns out, they have certain brands on sale, including Glock and Sig (and at least one other, maybe Smith? Maybe Ruger too). Lots of decent gear, Magpul stuff, mags, drums and slings too. Anyway, we were prepared to pay $500 for a NIB Gen3 G26 but when they rang it up it was only $450 and of course no tax, which turns out to be cheaper than the Blue Label with tax! Got a brown padded Blue Force Vickers sling for $52 also (not great, but no tax!). So it all worked out, and Marksman finally ran me off, shame, they are so close.
But if anyone on here is around and has access to Ft. Lewis and are in the market for a new pistol (any kind) the PX is definitely worth the visit and the current sale is on until March 7 I think, 10% off certain brands. They said sometimes they have sales for the whole department and offer various discounts. They also can order stuff including the civilian semi auto FN SAW --for $8200, no tax! Semi M2HB for $8000 I can see, a semi auto SAW I cannot see, but to each his own. At any rate, nice selection at the PX and pretty good prices on some items especially during sales.
Oh! Unrelated, but worth mentioning, ~$2000 SEVENTY-FIVE inch (!) 4K Ultra HD TV's; Samsung, Sony and others. 65" and Wrap around 65" 4K HD's for less. Just WAY better stuff than when I was there last, and definitely since I got out 12 or 13 years ago! Some nice clothes too. Those young Joes really make you feel old though... ah the days!
