Had a nice "bonding" camping trip with two of my grandsons (8 & 12). I made them build their own fires in the rain, wittle their own fork and spoons, went through a shit pot full of bandaides.

Get home, find a letter where IRS is garnishing one of my pension checks to the tune of about 9K (over three months), my grandson lost the keys to the camper and the extra set is with my wife who's on a road trip to Indiana. My youngest (idiot 19 year old) son tells me he's getting married the 3rd of July to another idiot girl. Tells me I'm suppose to pay for half the wedding. Then to top it off I make a couple sandwiches and while putting the stuff away, my dern bassett hounds steals my lunch.

So how to answer stress, Cabelas had Mosins on saie for $99, so I'm gonna wear out the Fathers day present I bought my self, plus I loaded up about 2000 38s I have to get rid of in preperation for a ICORE match this weekend.

As far as the IRS, screw them, its been a 30 year battle, already talked to my banker, he'll cover me. The camper can wait, called the doctor and he's giving me more BP and other meds (mine are in the camper). Told my son he can have all the weddings he wants, I'm not paying since I wont be here, had been planning a Motorcycle Trip with my grandaughter to Portland to see my daughter over the 4th, both he and his whatever knew I was gonna be gone then. After all my daughter and my other grandaughter, has planned her summer around my visit.

I'm retired and old, I shouldnt have to put up with this BS, I'm suppose to be working on my Bucket List.

So its time to go shooting and work on my concentration.

You can get a reduced payment to the IRS, they will work with you.

There's always taxmasters.com - see their ads on tv all the time.

Well of all of those bad things, a bassett hound sounds loving, just pet him and take a deep breath...

life's too short to worry, I quit keeping cash in the bank because the state (Child support) used to just reach in whenever they wanted, leaving me broke for a month - so keep your own cash on hand...

Trailer - that's easy, get a locksmith out or go through a window (Send the grandkid in through one)..:)

Get a cigar from switch, sit back and just enjoy life!

Minor problems, and as my Navajo friends always say, "This too shall pass".

I'm more worried about your basset hounds. Better keep them outside for a while in case your Fun Trip actually does turn to POOP!

Re: Fun Trip turned to POOP

Could I ever go into a two and a half hour story about the IRS. I will super condense.
When I was off road racing, many of the races were held in Las Vegas and I was a friggin' demon on the black jack table. Never left without more money than I came with often times a $1,000 more than I cam with and in the 80's that was dam good for me.

Anyways fast forward a decade. The day after I married my now ex wife we went to Vegas and we lost about $4grand on the first day so we decided to come home. To not make it a real crap honeymoon we were going to stop off at Disneyland and stay for a couple of days went to an ATM and no go. Went to a second ATM and it said contact the bank. I called home from my 20 pound cell phone and retrieved a message from my answering machine to call the bank on Monday. We go home and she is silent the whole way home.

Call Monday morning to find out my bank account (checking and savings) has been cleaned out by the IRS to the tune of about $5k from a previous business she had that she never told me about. Maybe I should have had a clue and annulled the marriage. Oh well young dumb and full of.... never mind.

You would have thought I learned my lesson except on our anniversary they got me again. Cleaned out the savings and checking a second time for about $6k. This time I am a little hotter than the last time so I go down to the IRS office and make sure that it will never happen again as they smile at me and my empty bank account. Many other lessons learned with that one and that was not the most expensive one by a long-shot. Live and learn brother live and learn.

If it's Portland Oregon I'll buy you a couple beers, or a glass of Pappy Van Winkle upon your visit.

That's gotta be worth something! Let me know if you're headed my way.
